Activity Outline

Optometrist reads Optometry Connection educational publication in print or online.

Optometrist logs into OA Institute of Excellence and completes assessment questions developed from articles in Optometry Connection.

Optometrist will receive immediate confirmation upon completion and CPD Hours will be uploaded to the Learning Plan of their CPD Portfolio.

Optometrists completing online assessment will be able to review incorrect answers and have an opportunity to repeat the assessment activity in line with adult learning principles and OBA guidelines.

Opportunity to provide feedback and commentary provided by standard OA Institute of Excellence CPD Activity Feedback Form.

  • Discuss makeup use with patients in clinical practice
  • Understand the use of ciclosporin 0.09% in the early treatment of inflammation in dry eye disease
  • Recognise the association between migraine and dry eye disease
  • Recognise the impact of formulation in topical dry eye disease treatments
  • Outline key features of fundus albipunctatus
  • Understand therapeutic considerations for recurrent corneal erosion
  • Identify common cognitive biases that can affect decision-making in optometry
