Activity Outline
Oral therapeutics already plays a key role in the provision of best-practice optometry care in Australia. In this session, we'll review the typical uses of oral medications for treating common eye diseases through case discussions and interactive conversation, referencing current best practice and looking ahead to future possibilities in the field of optometry.

Meet your speaker:
Rebekah Hopps |
Rebekah is a therapeutically endorsed clinical optometrist with particular interest in ocular disease management and complex contact lens fitting. After graduating in 2015 from Flinders University, she spent nearly 5 years working as the Senior Clinical Optometrist in a private ophthalmology clinic. During this time, she gained expertise in the management of acute and chronic anterior eye disease including ocular emergencies, infectious and inflammatory red eyes, post-surgical complications, corneal disease, and glaucoma. Since 2021, she has expanded her skills with Adelaide Eye Care, developing hands-on experience in the fitting of custom soft and rigid contact lenses of all modalities. She continues to enjoy providing high-level care to patients with complex ocular needs. |
