Optometry Australia and the state divisions are taking a little holiday break:

  • Optometry Australia will be closed from Friday 22 December 2023 and will reopen for business on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
  • Optometry Qld/NT will be closed from Friday 22 December 2023 and will reopen for business on Monday 8 January 2024.
  • Optometry NSW/ACT will be closed from 12pm Friday 22 December 2023 and will reopen for business on Monday 8 January 2024. Phones will be manned for anything urgent.
  • Optometry WA will be closed from 12pm Friday 22 December 2023 and will reopen for business on Monday 8 January 2024.

Madeline Baker awarded inaugural OV/SA LOOK Local Scholarship

The inaugural OV/SA Looking Outward on Optometric Knowledge (LOOK) Local Scholarship has been awarded to Victorian member, Madeline Baker. She will use her scholarship to investigate the factors behind the prevalence of mental ill-health in the optometric workforce, then develop a comprehensive mental health and wellbeing framework.
