- Understand IOL material properties in relation to biocompatibility, IOL glistening, IOL opacification, and capsular opacification.
- Inform patients on various types of IOLs and their pros and cons
- Gain an understanding of ocular biometry and its application in IOL calculations
- Manage patient’s post -operative refractive expectations
- Understand the etiology of positive and negative dysphotopsia after cataract surgery
- Recognise symptoms of post -operative dysphotopsia and differentiate from other ocular abnormalities
- Manage symptoms of post cataract surgery dysphotopsia in optometry practice
- Understanding the etiology and pathogenesis of Endophthalmitis
- Learn to conduct diagnostic workup, imaging and microbiological assessment and differential diagnosis
- Recognize the clinical signs and symptoms of Endophthalmitis and timely manage the condition to preserving vision
- Understand the importance of postoperative care and follow-up in optometry practice
