This talk will be on to identify common causes of
epiphora, become familiar with
assessment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction and
gain understanding of eyelid considerations in cataract surgery.
Dr Katherine Masselos: Cataract assessment in a glaucoma patient
This talk is to
appreciate the effect that a cataract can have on OCT and HVF results, to
acknowledge the role of lens extraction in primary angle closure glaucoma and
to raise awareness of the complications that can be associated with cataract
surgery in pseudoexfoliative glaucoma.
Dr Derek Chan: Geographic atrophy
This talk will
focus on defining
geographic atrophy, risk factors for geographic atrophy, biomarkers for
progression of geographic atrophy and referral pathway for geographic atrophy.

Nagi Assaad: Cataract surgery in diabetic patients
This
talk will focus on how to be aware of the additional factors
which need to be considered prior to cataract surgery in diabetic patients
compared with non-diabetic patients. Understand
the key diagnostic findings which influence decisions regarding cataract
surgery in diabetic patients. Be aware
of strategies to prevent exacerbation of diabetic retinopathy after cataract
surgery.
