Learning Objectives

  • Develop an understanding of the direct effects of glaucomatous conditions on the ocular surface.
  • Be able to recognise some common ocular surface conditions that have a risk of causing development of glaucoma.
  • Be familiar with the risk of IOP elevation secondary to topical medications used to treat common ocular surface conditions.
  • Be able to recognise the ocular surface effects of glaucoma medications, and be able to suggest alternative treatments or therapies to improve patient comfort while maintaining control of intraocular pressure.
