  • Describe the fundamentals of OCT
  • Demonstrate an understanding of retinal anatomy and features
  • Discuss the clinical applications of OCT
  • Explain how OCT scans complement information that is obtained by direct clinical observation and fluorescein angiography
  • List the OCT findings that are to be expected in various maculopathies and retinopathies
  • Discuss the expected OCT findings that are associated with retinal vascular and ischaemic disease
  • Discuss the role OCT and OCT- angiography in the diagnosis and management of  glaucoma
  • Identify the different patterns of loss in glaucoma that are evident with OCT
  • Compare and contrast visual field and OCT changes in glaucoma
  • Explain the integration of the RNFL and GCL scans in the evaluation of the risk of glaucoma
  • List the main OCT scan profiles
  • List the criteria for selecting a particular OCT scan and the interpretation of the scan
  • Recognise artefacts on an OCT scan
  • Contrast fundus autofluorescence (FAF) and OCT
