Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to determine what dry eye is
- Participants will be able to determine the different dry eye options
- Participants will be able to describe different dry eye treatments
- Participants will be able to commence dry eye therapies in their Optometry practice
- Participants will be able to determine whether IPL is suited to their patients
- Participants will know when to refer patients with dry eye to an Ophthalmologist
- Participants will know the causes of tarsal cysts
- Participants will be able to initiate treatment for tarsal cysts
- Participants will appreciate combined care for certain eyelid conditions such as cicatricial ectropion
- Participants will know the therapeutics commonly used medications and when it is appropriate to prescribe them
- Participants will know common side effects of commonly used topical medications
- Participants will appreciate issues with patients with dry eye and cataract surgery
- Participants will be able to initiate dry eye treatments for patients with cataract surgery
- Participants will be able to determine which dry eye patients are suited to IPL
