Activity Outline
This educational evening will consist of 4 separate sessions, each lasting a total of 30 minutes in duration.
Within each session, the presenting doctor will deliver a short lecture using PowerPoint slides and videos.
There will be a chance at the end of every session for Q & A with the doctor presenting.
Learning Objectives
- Identify different types of visual field patterns
- Understand the nuances in the visual field criteria for driving
- Appreciate how subtle clues in visual fields can change the decision making process
- Understand the Pharmacology, laser procedures, MIGS, and the surgical filtering procedures for Glaucoma.
- Identify patients who require prompt referrals for systemic diseases – including red flags on history as well as examination
- Understanding the common manifestations of rheumatological diseases in the eye
- Understanding the consequences/side effects of commonly prescribed systemic medications
- Understanding the importance of careful planning for cataract surgery for patients with systemic diseases to ensure excellent outcomes
- Describe common OCT findings in vitreomacular diseases
- Understanding different treatment strategies using intravitreal injections for common macular/retinal conditions
