Learning Objectives

  • Recognise signs of secondary causes associated with glaucoma
  • Understand the use of optic disc imaging and visual field testing in glaucoma management & identify non-glaucomatous causes of abnormal optic disc imaging and visual field loss
  • Recognise eyelid malpositions, understand their effects as well as the possible management/corrective options
  • Better understand how to appropriately triage retinal conditions based on level of urgency (referring versus monitoring) & what to do when unsure
  • Identify common presentations of cataract in children, the importance of systemic disease & the major considerations in the management of the paediatric patient
