•    Indications and considerations for cataract surgery

•    Risk factors and pre-existing condition – patient selection and considerations for referral

•    Crystalline lens subluxation and luxation as a risk factors in patient selection

•    Insertion of IOL in post vitrectomy cases- risks factors and lens selection

•    Advanced anaesthesia and drug delivery strategies- advances in surgical management of cataract and combined cataract surgery

•    Unexpected intra-operative finding and addressing them promptly

•    Intra-operative complications during cataract surgery and combined cataract surgery

•    Posterior capsule rupture and zonulodialysis

•    IOL decentration, luxation and subluxation

•    Surgical capsulotomy

•    The post- operative period following cataract surgery- 1 day, 2 weeks, one month

  • Differentiate and characterise different surgical approaches to cataract surgery

  • Understand the patient journey in post-operative recovery from cataract surgery, along with appropriate outcome expectations (1 day, 2 weeks, 1 month)
  • Understand ocular medication schedules following cataract surgery and the importance of compliance and keeping follow-up appointments
  • Understand when the patient is ready to resume swimming, exercising, flying and travelling
  • Understand when the patient is ready to update their glasses
