Activity Outline

This event will feature Dr Emily Woodman-Pieterse covering the latest in research on the management of myopia.  It will cover all aspects of myopia management including spectacle lenses, contact lenses and atropine.  Following this will be some case discussions on myopia management with Amy Tran.  

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each method of myopia control
  • Determine the most appropriate method of myopia control for each individual patient
  • Understand the options for combination myopia management
  • Overview the latest commercial developments and new releases in myopia control within Australia and globally, including optical and pharmacological treatments
  • Apply the latest findings on dual therapy myopia control to understand which patients will benefit from supplementing optical treatments with low dose atropine
  • Discuss how blue- and red-light therapies are being used as an adjunct to traditional myopia control strategies and evaluate the safety profiles
