Learning Objectives
- To understand the different types of retinal artery and vein occlusions and their clinical features.
- To understand the principals of management of retinal artery and vein occlusions and to recognise important complications.
- To be familiar with strategies for monitoring glaucoma suspects prior to referral top ophthalmology
- To identify key features in a patients’ workup that would suggest a need for referral to ophthalmology
- Know how to deal with StEPS referrals
- understand what is meant by emmetropisation
- Know the danger signs in screening children
- Understand what are the important causes and risk factors of a red eye that are vision threatening
- logically examine a patient with an acute red eye
- Be familiar with the management principles of an acute red eye
