Learning Objectives
- Understand the appropriateness of topical glaucoma medication dependent upon the severity of the condition
- Understand the contraindications of topical glaucoma medication
- Confidently examine a complex patient on the slit lamp
- To appreciate the difference in anti-VEGF therapies
- To confidently understand the steps required in performing an intravitreal injection.
- Appreciate the different types of IOLs (EDOF, MFs and pinhole) available for implantation
- To confidently educate patients on various IOLs
- Identify what type of IOL they are viewing under the microscope
- To appreciate the different surgical techniques available in managing thyroid eye disease
- To understand the process of medical management in thyroid eye disease
- To comfortably perform a corneal foreign body removal.
- To appreciate when a foreign body may need a referral to an ophthalmologist.
