Learning Objectives

  • Correctly classify colour fundus photographs of age-related macular degeneration into the Beckman Classification scheme (normal, normal ageing changes, early, intermediate, late – atrophic, late – neovascular).
  • Be able to identify and understand the importance of new optical coherence tomography biomarkers of age-related macular degeneration, including iRORA, cRORA and the SIRE sign.
  • Have an understanding of novel treatment modalities being developed for age-related macular degeneration.
