Nexus Eyecare invites you to the seminar: Dry Eye – The Elephant in the room on Tuesday 25th June starting at 5:30pm.
The evening will provide a walk through our new Dry Eye Clinic with an IPL demonstration followed by presentations on the below topics and a 2 course meal at Rydges Hotel Norwest and conclude with a panel discussion with audience input.

2. Neuropathic pain in dry eye patients – Dr Alan Nazha
3. Dry eye and the elephant in the room – Dr Phillip Myers
Learning Objectives
- Understand the patient experience at the dry eye clinic
- Inform patients of the IPL treatment protocol
- Stage patient dry eye management according to the flow-chart protocol
- Refer appropriately to a dry eye clinic those patients requiring additional measures to control symptoms
- Understand differences between LipiFlow and IPL for dry eye management
- Understand the physiology of neuropathic pain
- Develop an index of suspicion for those patients who may have a component of neuropathic pain
- Develop a management approach to neuropathic dry eye and pain
- Factor dry eye management into refractive management
- Manage the co-morbidity of dry eye in patients using chronic eye drops
- Manage post-operative patients with dry eye complicating symptoms
