Learning Objectives

  • Develop an enhanced awareness and understanding of the Optometry Board of Australia's guidelines for professional development for optometrists.
  • Reflect upon and identify key barriers and facilitators to professional development for a personal perspective and an optometry profession's perspective in Australia.
  • Identify how focus group techniques can be used to build group consensus around complex, multifaceted issues.
  • Identify, advocate for, or implement changes, actions and measures individually and perhaps as a group that are most likely to facilitate effective professional education.
