  • a. Better understanding of terms such as melanocytoma, aplasia, hypoplasia, papilloedema, pseudopapilloedema, drusen, pits b. Better understanding of congenital vs acquired and benign vs pathologic optic nerve findings c. Be able to recognise Optic Disc Drusen and identify the preferred modalities to confirm diagnosis d. Be able to distinguish Optic Disc Pits and associated maculopathy e. Be able to recognise Optic Nerve Hypoplasia and its systemic associations
  • a. Outline past and present treatments for age-related macular degeneration b. Appreciate the efficacy and limitations of past and present AMD treatments c. Understand emerging AMD treatment options
  • a. Recount a brief history of cataract surgery b. Understand the historical difficulties in IOL power calculation b. Outline the current state of IOL power calculation with regards to the measurements obtained and the calculations performed
  • a. Outline common causes for arterial, capillary occlusions and ocular ischaemia b. Correlate symptoms with signs c. Know triaging, investigations and management
  • a. Understand blunt trauma mechanisms & manifestation b. Manage perforating and intraocular foreign body b. Know remote trauma manifestations
  • a. Know important clinical signs to assist diagnosis and management b. Know model for classifying causes b. Know treatment principles
