OVC 2024: Presbyopia-correcting IOLs: When technology and reality collide (Recorded Webcast - Sponsored)

Activity Outline

Presbyopia correcting IOLs are becoming more advanced and more widely used. As well as providing patients with decreased spectacle dependence, they bring with them inherent compromises, including changes to contrast sensitivity, increased dysphotopsias compared with monofocal IOLs and concerns about long term visual outcomes should a patient develop ocular pathology after PCIOL implantation. Join Dr Adams as she discusses her rationale for the implantation of PCIOLs, weighing up the perceived compromises against the quality-of-life benefits that the technology provides.

  • Appreciate the benefits to patients that PCIOLs provide
  • Appreciate the real-life implications of clinical measures
