Learning Objectives

  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand and feel confident with how to assess an optic nerve in the paediatric population, understand important features and testing to consider when assessing an optic nerve
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the assessment required and both short and long term management involved with congenital cataracts.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the assessment required, differential diagnoses and practical conservative and surgical management of congenital ptosis
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to accurately differentiate and diagnosis different pupil anomalies.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand genetics principles and apply this to inherited retinal diseases.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the diagnostic assessment and practical management of congenital glaucoma.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the assessment required in the diagnosis and management of anterior segment dysgenesis.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the latest reserach and protocols surrounding the screening, treatment and ongoing follow up for retinopathy of prematurity.
