Learning Objectives

  • Understand important basic science concepts relating to the development of periocular tumours
  • Gain an appreciation of the presentation and spectrum of malignant periocular tumours
  • Identify clinical “red flags" that may indicate malignant transformation of periocular lesions and that should serve as and a catalyst for specialist review
  • Gain an understanding of treatment options and future trends in treating periocular tumours
  • Appreciate the anatomical constraints and special considerations in periocular reconstruction. 
  • Differentiate various conjunctivitis and when Chlorsig is the appropriate treatment.
  • To provide education of serious eye diseases can cause severe visual loss, significant morbidity or even threaten life
  • Differentiate and understand relevance of a pupil sparing (‘medical’) and a pupil involving (‘surgical’) 3rd cranial nerve palsy
  • Understand the clinical features suggesting an Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia
  • An overview of pigmented anterior segment lesions
  • Distinguish and differentiate anterior Scleritis form Episcleritis
