Activity Outline

This CPD evening is an opportunity for you be hands on  to perform laser vision correction procedures including myopic astigmatic and hyperopic SMILE and LASIK. This will allow you to better understand these procedures and more confidently advise your patients about vision correction options.
There will also be an opportunity to use the YAG laser hands on.
During the course of the evening there will be conversations about what information you can provide to your patients, how to best refer and when, and to counsel regarding the vision correction experience and outcome expectations. This allows you to continue care of your patient after successful completion of vision correction and the short recovery period.
There will also be an opportunity to discuss patient concerns after vision correction to allow you to liase better with a vision correction clinic and to counsel your patients.

Open on two concurrent evenings the 8th and 9th of April, and open to 21 participants per night due to laser suite space. Food and drink provided from 6 pm for a 6:30 sharp start in laser suite and YAG rooms.

Learning Objectives

• To be able to be more informative to your patients above vision correction
• To counsel patients regarding the experience they would have receiving vision correction
• To understand the most important information required in a vision correction referral
• To be able to interpret post vision correction findings when the patient is returned to you to continue your ongoing therapeutic relationship with the patient
• To understand the vision correction procedure options for most patients
