Optometry Victoria South Australia will be holding a series of CPR refresher courses for OV/SA members in the coming months. AHPRA requires that optometrists renew their CPR certificate every three years. This course provides the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Please note: We will be inviting attendees to complete the theoretical component of the course online. This will be a self-guided program where you will be required to complete the assessment prior to attending the evening. Upon registration, details will be sent to you on how to access this course.
On the evening of the CPR Training, all registered attendees will be provided with practical CPR demonstration to complete the CPR Refresher course.
Our COVIDSafe protocol means we’ll have fresh air flow and our ventilator running. Masks and sanitiser will be available at the venue.
Before you register you will need to obtain a USI.
If you do not already have a USI, (check your member portal to see if we have your USI on file). Please ensure you acquire your USI first, following the steps below and include it in the mandatory field upon registration. You will continue to use your USI for any future nationally recognised training you undertake.
The Australian Government introduced the Unique Student Identifier (USI). From 1st January 2015, students undertaking nationally recognised training need to provide their USI to their registered training provider before they can receive their training records and result. As a Registered Training Organisation, our CPR Training Provider is obligated to collect this data prior to issuing a certificate.
Step 1: Go to http://usi.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx
Step 2: Select Create your USI from the front page
Step 3: Have any of the following available: * Driver’s Licence * Medicare Card * Australian Passport * Visa (with Non-Australian Passport) for international students * Birth Certificate (Australian) *please note a Birth Certificate extract is not sufficient * Certificate Of Registration By Descent * Citizenship Certificate * ImmiCard
Step 4: Provide the requested information as it is shown in your chosen form of identification.
Step 5: Save your USI as you will need this in the future.
