  • To further advance knowledge in the emerging role VR technology can play in assisting patient understanding and interactive care for better patient outcomes.
  • To enhance awareness of Artificial Intelligence and integrating its use in ophthalmic care.
  • Small group session with Dr Miriam Keanne, Dr Gurmitt Uppal & Dr Ben Lahood and clinical team case discussion with speakers .
  • To learn about advances in equipment and pharmaceuticals and their uses in clinical settings from company representatives.
  • To build relationships with surgeons, Dr Andrew Apel, Dr John Hogden, Dr Michael Hogden for effective co-management of patients.
  • To further develop skills for managing the cultural impacts of AI use within a clinical setting through group discussions with guest speakers Dr Ben Lahood.
  • To understand the different types of microbes that can be responsible for microbial keratitis.
  • To learn about best practice in diagnostic testing for microbe identification
  • To learn about future innovation in microbe identifications using metabolomics and its limitations
  • Small group session with Dr Andrew Apel, Dr John Hogden and clinical team case discussion with speakers
  • To update knowledge regarding the latest CASA standards for multifocal intraocular lens use.
  • To learn about best practice and appropriate use of contact lenses in myopia control.
  • To further knowledge on available contact lens related technology for improved patient compliance and care.
  • Small group session with Dr Andrew Apel, Dr John Hogden and Marissa Megaloconomos clinical team case discussion with speakers.
  • To learn about advances in equipment and pharmaceuticals and their uses in clinical settings from company representatives.
  • To build relationships with surgeons and Marissa Megaloconomos for effective co-management of patients.
  • To deepen understanding of skill development opportunities in specialized optometry care for aviation, we will engage in collaborative discussions with Dr. Andrew Apel, Dr. John Hogden, and Marissa Megaloconomos.
  • To learn importance of engaging in community resources, such as the TEHC Facebook Group, to assist with ongoing learning and better patient outcomes.
  • Identifying complications associated with contact lens wear, how to treat them and why they need to be addressed to reduce complications and optimising patient outcomes.
  • To learn about advancements in imaging technology and the role of topographical imaging during the surgical process for improving visual outcomes.
  • To further advance knowledge in the diagnosis, management and treatment of posterior and anterior conditions for community optometrists to understand patient co-management.
  • To learn about the current protocols for assessing keratoconic patients.
  • To learn about the process of Implantable Collamer Lens surgery from a patient perspective
