Learning Objectives
- The difference between the development of a normal Posterior Vitreous Detachment and the process by which the Anomalous Posterior Vitreous Detachment (APVD) results in sight threatening disease. This will enable a greater understanding of how we treat the conditions arising from APVD.
- Identify a number of retinal conditions and be able to discuss diagnostic tips and management guidelines
- To gain confidence in the diagnosis of extraocular and intraocular tumours
- To increase awareness of the evolving role of genetics in glaucoma diagnosis & management.
- To gain an understanding of the various presentations & etiologies of Hypertensive Uveitis
- Brief survey within the Oculoplastics and Paediatric Ophthalmology domains of some of the common as well as potentially vision and life-threatening conditions,
- To gain an understanding of the latest techniques for treating corneal disease and surgical management of refractive error
- Understand cataract and pterygium, the common pathologies, and the diagnosis and management of these conditions as well as tips for management of patients after surgery
