Learning Objectives

  • • Identify normal and abnormal retinal structures on an OCT image and understand their role in the function of the retina
  • • Diagnose commonly seen eye conditions using OCT (Cases)
  • • Know which OCT scan is most appropriate for which eye condition
  • • Understand how to attain best possible OCT images with practical tips and tricks (Workshop)
  • • Diagnose retinal eye conditions using OCT imaging
  • • Provide patient with pre-operative or pre-treatment advice based on OCT imaging (cataract, AMD, retinal detachment etc)
  • • Optimise patient care by using OCT imaging to help refer patients in an appropriate time frame
