Learning Objectives
- Counsel a patient pre-operatively on IOL selection and refractive aims
- Manage a routine post-operative cataract patient
- Discuss the role of antibiotics during and after cataract surgery
- Identify treatment options following complicated cataract surgery. Including post operative cystoid macular oedema, elevated intraocular pressure and corneal oedema
- Appreciate options for delivery of medications instead of eye drops post cataract surgery
- Identify and explain to a patient the different IOL options available and have a basic understanding regarding potential visual outcomes
