Optometry Australia is inviting expressions of interest from members in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania to join the State Advisory Committee.

This is a unique opportunity to have input into the work of the association and contribute to the future of optometry and eye care in these regions.

About SACVSAT

The State Advisory Committee for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania (SACVSAT) provides essential advice and input to Optometry Australia’s CEO and Secretariat staff on:

  • Emerging issues in optometry and eye care;
  • Clinical and technical optometric advice and feedback;
  • Policy issues and advocacy strategies;
  • Development and updating of member resources and information.

Committee members meet virtually at least twice a year to participate in strategic discussions that influence the work of their association and offer insights and advice on issues raised by the Secretariat.

The committee comprises up to 20 members, representing Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania. The composition of the SACVSAT aims to reflect the diversity of the optometry sector, including different genders, backgrounds, and professional settings. Members at all career stages, including early, mid, and late career, as well as those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, are encouraged to apply.

Why join SACVSAT?

Joining SACVSAT allows you to play a crucial role in shaping the future of optometry and eye care in your region. You will work alongside other committed professionals, influence key policies, and contribute to the development of resources and strategies that benefit the optometry community.

We encourage eligible Optometry Victoria South Australia (OV/SA) and Optometry Tasmania (OTas) members, particularly early career optometrists, and those from regional, rural and remote settings, to apply. Your expertise and dedication can make a significant impact on the profession.

Application process
