Optometry Australia’s Good vision for life community facing initiative helps everyday Australians better understand and care for their eyes by offering informative content and a search function to find nearby optometrists.

While members are automatically listed on the GVFL website, there is a further option for members to take out a free extended profile to expand on offerings and expertise, and increase exposure

This resource is especially helpful for those optometrists offering more specific services or who have experience within certain areas of clinical support (i.e. speak additional languages, special or complex patient needs etc.).

If a member is interested in adding a profile to their ‘Find an Optometrist’ search results on the GVFL website, here is a helpful step-by-step guide to simplify the process.

Step 1

Once logged into the welcome page, members need to select “edit my profile” from the My Membership drop down menu.

Step 2

A practice address will need to be added to the existing profile. This can be done by scrolling down to the “Practice Address” section and clicking “add”.

Step 3

If a member chooses to ADD NEW PRACTICE DETAILS, the box on the left of the image below appears; if a member chooses the EDIT/VIEW button, they can indicate whether they want to have their practice details on the ‘Find an Optometrist’ search (illustrated in the image on the right).

Step 4

Further down the membership page, members can choose to add a GVFL profile to appear along with their practice information in the ‘Find an Optometrist’ search.

Step 5

Once the below form is submitted, it will be reviewed in the OA 360 Admin Portal by the National Member Support Officer. This process ensures links provided are correct and that all wording complies with the guidelines that are in place for advertising regulated health services.

Once a profile submission is approved, please allow up to 24 hours for listings to be up to date.

If you are having issues adding a GVFL profile, please reach out to Helen Podbury (Administration and Member Support Officer) for support at national@optometry.org.au
