- Appreciate advancements in gene therapy and its implication on the treatment of wet macula degeneration
- Co-manage patients with geographic atrophy and give advice on emerging treatments and expected prognosis
- Understand geographic atrophy: pathophysiology and progression
- Appreciate the very early markers of AMD and know when to refer for ophthalmic review, and give advice on nutrition and lifestyle changes for those predisposed to the disease
- Appreciate the emerging role of artificial intelligence in AMD diagnosis and treatment
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of endophthalmitis and other serious eye infections and their immediate treatment needs
- Identify when surgical intervention is required for retinal condition
- Identify when to refer for surgical intervention for dry eye treatment due to anatomical reasons
- Understand the considerations when choosing an IOL for a patient with retinal disease
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of endophthalmitis and other serious eye infections and their immediate treatment needs
- Compare the various treatments for dry eyes
