Activity Outline
Join us for an engaging seminar on the evolution and future of optometry. This seminar will feature Mr Tim Fricke, Director of Research and Education at the Australian College of Optometry and Senior Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Explore the forces shaping optometry through a review of outside influences, two grand planners of Australian optometry, several simple planners, and the influence of independence, collectivism and personal journey. The seminar will foster open discussion, rather than aiming for a prescribed endpoint.
Following the lecture, you will have a chance to network over drinks and canapes in the Kenneth Myer Building. We will also hold a guided tour of our research spaces for those interested.
Learning Objectives
- Consider how the history of optometry affects eye care practice today
