Activity Outline

Conventional contact lens education teaches us to focus on the trifecta of comfort, vision and handling. The assumption is that each of these factors is independently important in achieving successful lens wear. But is this really the case? Fortunately, we have Dr Carole Maldonado-Codina from the University of Manchester to help us understand the evidence linking comfort and vision – and what it means for our patient management strategies. Carol will also present the research underpinning the clinical advice for when to fit soft toric lenses and the consequences of leaving low to moderate astigmatism uncorrected.

Join us for another “webinar with a star” and lap up the CPD time/credit while enjoying a stimulating topic presented by a key member of the internationally esteemed Eurolens Research team. Supporting our main speaker with additional educational content will be Julia Kwok, Professional Affairs Manager at CooperVision.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand why it is important to fit soft toric contact lenses in low to moderate astigmatism
  • Understand why spherical and aspheric contact lenses cannot mask or correct astigmatism
  • Understand the relationship between comfort and vision in soft toric contact lens wear
  • Understand the benefits and features of Aquaform Technology
  • Understand how uniform horizontal iso-thickness, optimised ballast toric design and a wide ballast band contribute to rotational stability of toric lenses
  • Understand the rotational orientation and recovery performance for Optimised Toric Lens Geometry relative to other toric designs
