  • Understand important principles in cataract surgery in Glaucoma patients
  • Describe modern classification of Angle Closure and Angle Closure Glaucoma
  • Become familiar with indications for Lens extraction and adjuncts in Angle Closure diagnoses
  • Compare and contrast evidence-based strategies for myopia control (e.g., atropine, orthokeratology, multifocal lenses).
  • Recognise early signs of axial elongation and progressive myopia in pediatric patients.
  • Detect and manage complications from orthokeratology lenses such as microbial keratitis and corneal staining.
  • Identify poor compliance patterns contributing to contact lens-related complications.
  • Explain the mechanism of action and ocular applications of IPL in meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
  • Assess patients for IPL suitability using standardized dry eye and MGD assessment tools.
  • Distinguish between aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye to tailor IPL and adjunctive treatments.
  • Understand IPL protocols, contraindications, and safe operating parameters in optometric practice.
  • Interpret meibography and non-invasive tear break-up time to track IPL treatment efficacy.
  • Integrate IPL with other therapies like LipiFlow, cyclosporine, or omega-3 supplementation.
  • Manage patient expectations and timeline for improvement with IPL treatment courses.
  • Identify and troubleshoot adverse events post-IPL, including hyperpigmentation and transient inflammation.
  • Gain hands-on experience using the latest slit lamp and indirect ophthalmoscope models, including optimising illumination techniques, magnification settings, and ergonomics for efficient examinations.
  • Understand key features and innovations in diagnostic equipment to enhance clinical workflow, improve patient comfort, and support high-quality imaging and documentation.
  • Apply advanced examination techniques using vendor-provided tools to improve the detection and interpretation of anterior and posterior segment pathology in everyday optometric practice.
