Early Career & New Member Welcome: Your burning questions answered

Please join us at the Boardwalk Bistro at Wrest Point for insights into the most frequently asked questions from OA’s optometry advisor help desk – plus, dinner and drinks are on us!

This event is for Early Career members (less than 10 years from graduation) of Optometry Australia. New members living and working in Tasmania are also warmly welcome, including recent graduates who have recently arrived in Tasmania.

This curated networking event will provide a Q&A opportunity on topics your textbooks can’t answer, including:

  • Common traps in Medicare billing codes
  • Salary negotiations
  • Red flags in employment contract
  • Locuming
  • Starting your own practice
  • Non-traditional optometry careers (e.g. outreach, remote communities, non-clinical roles, volunteer work)

Dom Willson (National Professional Services Advisor, OA) and Luke Burns (OTAS Board member), will walk you through the more complex aspects of professional life and answer any questions you may have.   Do you have any burning questions to ask?

Please register by August 9th to secure you place and connect with other graduates and new members in TAS.

Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation Optometry Australia acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
