Speaker:

Stephanie Callisto

Stephanie graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Vision Science)/Master of Optometry in 2018 moving to Port Augusta to work in an independent optometry practice. She gained extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye diseases while working closely with local health care providers and visiting ophthalmologists.

Stephanie now works at Pennington Eye Clinic an ophthalmology practice in North Adelaide assisting in both pre- and post-operative care as well as providing shared care of chronic eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She is a keen and passionate learner and has expanded her knowledge in vitreoretinal diseases and ocular oncology to ensure patients have access to timely care and support throughout their treatment.

Shaping optometry’s future is a key passion of Stephanie’s. She does this by dividing her time between supervising and lecturing at Flinders University and as a director on the board of Optometry Victoria/South Australia.

Outside of work, Stephanie can be found spending time at the park with her husband and fur baby or ready to set off on her next adventure.
