Learning Objectives

  • Objective 1: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand how to perform an examination of the intraocular lens, assessing for typical complications including malpositioning, dislocation, and opacification
  • Objective 2: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to discuss strategies for the treatment of common intraocular lens complications including conservative and surgical methods
  • Objective 3: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand and discuss when to refer intraocular lens-related problems for further review and consideration of further treatment
  • Objective 4: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to make an informed decision as to whether it is worth screening for keratoconus.
  • Objective 5: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the potential of screening methods for keratoconus
  • Objective 6: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to display a good understanding of both the benefits and limitations of screening for keratoconus.
  • Objective 7: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the different types of penetrating eye injury.
  • Objective 8: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to identify signs of penetrating eye injury.
  • Objective 9: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the basic principles of managing penetrating eye injury.
  • Objective 10: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to identify common eyelid malpositions and the surgical treatment associated with these conditions
  • Objective 11: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand common benign and malignant eyelid lesions and the surgical management associated with this.
  • Objective 12: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the difficulties associated with Epiphora (watery eye) and management of this condition
  • Objective 13: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to have an update on Medicare requirements on certain Oculoplastic items.
  • Objective 14: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to have a good understanding of current diagnosis and treatments for macular degeneration.
  • Objective 15: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to have a higher level of understanding of how Artificial Intelligence can help with the diagnosis of ARMD
  • Objective 16: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to have more insight into new treatments being trialed for ARMD
  • Objective 17: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the epidemiology and clinical presentation of intermittent esotropia.
  • Objective 18: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to have a greater understanding of the different classifications of intermittent esotropia.
  • Objective 19: At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand how to treat intermittent esotropia with non-surgical options.
