Learning Objectives

  • DR BELINDA LEONG – EYE EMERGENCIES 23 MAY 2019 Participants are expected to identify symptoms and signs of eye presentations that constitute ocular or systemic emergency and suggested referral timeframe. At the end of the hour, the participants should be able to: 1. Identify those red and / or painful eye(s) presentations that warrant early referral.
  • 2. Identify those rare conditions that are likely to need hospital (Eye or Tertiary) care.
  • 3. Appropriately advise patients approximate expectations of subsequent care of eye emergency conditions.
  • DR HUGHIE TSANG – FLUIDIC DYNAMICS DISEQUILIBRIUM Participants are expected to have an improved appreciation of medical conditions and optometry presentations that have a basis arising from fluidic dynamics disequilibrium when patients present with eye complaints. At the end of the hour, participants should be able to: 1. Identify rare presentations of cardiovascular diseases.
  • 2. Identify causes of fluid pressure alterations in raised IOP, raised ICP, and raised BP.
  • 3. Identify cases where surgical interventions are required of glaucoma, epiphoric, and IIH patients.
