Learning Objectives
- Understand the importance of managing ocular surface contamination and potential resultant inflammation associated with cosmetics in CL and non CL wearers
- Understand correct use, type and application of eye cosmetics to minimise complications and improve outcomes
- Be updated with research which highlights that multiple adverse reactions to mainstream eye makeup and skincare may occur: This will be expanded on and discussed in detail
- Learn how to interpret OSDI results, and categorise into true dry eye or vision behaviour
- Learn How to discuss make-up and dry eyes, and suggest modified use of make-up as part of the treatment plan
- Learn how to use fluorescein to investigate blinking and its link to both staining and vision stability
