Session Information

Summary: We will be discussing using the smile laser for complex and high refractive errors not suitable for LASIK surgery and going through cases where we performed what is known as therapeutic laser surgery. In these cases patients have irregular cornea is which we corrected with the Excimer laser and then also correct their vision. There will also be a discussion on new keratoconus treatment CAIRS and how it is performed with femtosecond laser. Participants will also have the opportunity to do laser surgery on pigs eyes.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify patients with irregular cornea and perform laser surgery on pigs eyes with the femtosecond laser

Max CPD hours awarded: 1.5 Interactive Therapeutic – event duration is 2.5hrs.
