Learning Objectives

  • At the completion of the CPD activity participants will be able to confidently fit multifocal soft contact lenses avoiding common pitfalls and mistakes
  • At the end of the activity participants will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of modern lens properties aimed at increasing contact lens tolerance, reduce hypoxia related adverse reactions and optimise simultaneous distance and near vision correction.
  • Participants will have a sound understanding of how to apply multifocal contact lenses across 6 unique patient scenarios.
  • At the completion of the CPD activity participants will have a sound understanding of the normal variation in optic nerve head appearance
  • At the end of the activity participants will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of optic nerve head assessment using a pracical approach.
  • Participants will have a sound understanding of how differentiate pathological optic nerves from normal variation and when to refer
