Activity Outline

With a plethora of new devices for testing vision either on, or about to enter the market, this article details some of the issues practitioners should consider when assessing their options. The authors also describe how they addressed some of these issues when developing an accurate test of vision and visual field called the Melbourne Rapid Fields (MRF).

  • Recognise how acuity optotypes can be used to identify vision disorders at different stages of the visual pathway
  • Understand key differences between the MRF tangent perimeter and conventional bowl perimeters

  • Detail the clinical implementation of a tablet perimeter in patient management
