Learning Objectives

  • To further understand how the OCT normative database and the concept of red and green disease affect management of conditions such as glaucoma.
  • To describe the physiological variations that can result in false positive and false negative errors on OCT such as tilted discs, vitreopapillary traction, myopic staphylomas, small or large disc size.
  • To describe the instrument artefacts that can result in false positive and false negative errors on OCT such as incorrect segmentation, poor focus, and instrument variability.
