Join us at the Centre for Eye Research Australia to update your knowledge about how to interpret optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging in the clinical management of patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) – as well as an update on ongoing research projects in Victoria that patients with AMD can be involved in.

The Macular Research Unit, headed by internationally-reputed retinal specialist Professor Robyn Guymer AM, has led the world in identifying key pathological features on OCT imaging in AMD and its progression, especially in the early stages of the disease.

This education evening seeks to provide optometrists with the knowledge about how to identify these features on OCT imaging and how to use this information in the management of AMD patients in primary eye care. It also aims to provide optometrists with the latest updates on ongoing research studies in Victoria that AMD patients can be involved in to expedite worldwide efforts towards reducing the impact of this condition.

This session will be presented by Dr Zhichao Wu, an optometrist and clinician-researcher at the Macular Research Unit at CERA, who together with Professor Robyn Guymer has led this body of research of OCT imaging in the early stages of AMD.

Limited places are available. Please book your free spot online no later than 6 November 2019. Finger food available from 6pm, with the session to begin at 6.30pm.
