Activity Outline

3 hr presentation on Retinal clinical studies, updates and surgical intervention. First hour ophthalmologist will present an overview of the retina, anatomy and physiology. The next hour will focus on clinical studies and findings. The third hour will involve optoms to be divided into smaller groups to analyse and discuss numerous case studies which will focus on diagnosis, management and outcomes.

  • Recognise and describe the signs and symptoms of common retinal pathology
  • Discuss the characteristics of retinal pathology
  • Manage patients with retinal pathology
  • Triage a retinal patient and discuss urgency for referral
  • Describe treatments of common retinal pathology
