Northside Eye Specialists presents an informative educational evening hosted by Dr Bradley Horsburgh and Professor Timothy Sullivan covering the following topics: The effect of AI upon Ophthalmology and Optometry as well as a comprehensive session on Thyroid Eye Disease - Epidemiology, Presentation, Signs and Symptoms, Investigations, Medical and Surgical Treatments.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand which ophthalmic and systemic conditions lend themselves to population screening utilising AI
  • Understand the level of reproducibility and accuracy associated with AI and deep learning
  • Understand and evaluate the impact that AI and the use of sophisticated decision trees have upon clinical practice and the workforce needed to care for Australian patients
  • Recognize patients with Thyroid Eye Disease
  • Be able to distinguish TED from other causes of proptosis
  • Advise patients of treatment options for TED
