Learning Objectives

  • At the completion of this presentation optometrists will have a greater understanding of what PACG (primary angle closure glaucoma) is and what to look out for in the diagnosis of PACG
  • At the completion of this presentation optometrists will be able to accurately diagnose PACG based on the current guidelines
  • Optometrists will have a greater understanding on the use of peripheral iridotomy, indications functionality, benefits, limitations and risk factors.
  • At the completion of this presentation optometrists will be able to identify the differences between PACG and POAG
  • At the completion of this presentation optometrists will be aware of the different MIGS devices and their mechanisms, what area each MIGS targets, including the Hydrus, iStent etc.
  • Optometrists will have a deeper understanding of the therapeutical management of glaucoma management, drop regime and how MIGS can alter or eliminate the use of ongoing eye drops
