As our national Myopia Awareness Campaign ‘Off Screens, Outside, Optometrist’ continues to build momentum across the country, we’ve released a new clinical resource to support our members in delivering confident, evidence-based myopia care.
Now available via our Myopia Microsite and in time for Myopia Awareness Week (19-25 May), the Myopia Management Resource Guide and Product Compendium brings together the latest clinical research, management strategies and tools in one accessible reference. Created with input from Myopia Profile and featuring Centre for Eye Health (CFEH) Chairside resources and more, the guide and compendium are designed with your everyday clinical needs in mind.
This timely resource comes as more families are tuning into the risks of childhood myopia – and turning to optometrists for guidance. With projections suggesting half of Australians could have myopia by 2040, the demand for clear, proactive care is growing. Yet, our latest research reveals that 85% of Australians remain unaware that treatment options exist.
Running until the end of June, the ‘Off Screens, Outside, Optometrist’ campaign is helping to shift that awareness – reaching families through digital and social media channels, and directing them to the Good vision for life website to book an appointment with a local optometrist.
We encourage you to make the most from this national campaign and the new tools now available by:
- Downloading the Myopia Management Resource Guide and Product Compendium from Optometry Australia’s Myopia Microsite.
- Updating your Good vision for life profile so families can easily find and book with you.
- Sharing the message – whether through social media, a conversation with a parent or a quick link to the Good vision for life website, every touchpoint helps raise awareness and drive action.
With new resources now available on our Myopia Microsite, Optometry Australia is equipping members with the tools to meet rising demand and deliver effective myopia care with confidence.
Together, these tools, paired with our members’ clinical expertise, are key to improving eye care outcomes and ensuring Australians understand the vital role of optometry in safeguarding vision.
