Carla Northam began her appointment as chief executive officer of Vision 2020 Australia on 4 July.
Before taking the position at Vision 2020, she had been the CEO at Family Day Care Australia for five years. She has also worked as the chief operating officer at the Victor Chang Cardiac Institute.
Ms Northam replaces in the role Jennifer Gersbeck, who was CEO of Vision 2020 Australia for 12 years. Ms Gersbeck became the director of Global Partnerships and Advocacy at the Fred Hollows Foundation in June 2016.
Ms Northam has also been employed in the eye-care sector as the director of operations at Laser Sight Centres Australasia.
