- To understand the architecture of the human cornea, including the anatomical configuration of corneal nerves and immune cells
- To understand how the corneal nervous and immunological systems interact in the context of ocular surface homeostasis
- To appreciate how corneal nerves and immune system components interact during corneal inflammation, injury and neurodegenerative disease
- To appreciate how the functional interplay between corneal nerves and immune cells can be observed in clinical settings
- To understand approaches for caring for a patient with an immune-neurotrophic corneal lesion
- To understand approaches for caring for a patient with post-adenoviral corneal sub-epithelial infiltrates
