A voice at the decision table

We regularly rally our members to help ensure that all our federal representatives understand the important role of optometry and what is necessary to secure a sustainable and effective eye care system accessible to all Australians.

We believe it is imperative that all political parties recognise the contribution of optometry and support optometrists’ mission to meet the changing needs of our population by embracing a rapidly advancing clinical, technological and communications landscape.

We need your help to broadcast our key messages and we welcome your interest in joining our campaigns.

In the lead up to the last two federal elections, several hundred members of Optometry Australia made their thoughts very clear through concerted and sustained campaigns that saw thousands of pieces of communication delivered to sitting and candidate federal parliamentarians. The 2022 campaign was designed to support Optometry Australia’s key election policy priorities, calling on the next Federal Government to support our vision for a sustainable and effective eye care system accessible to all Australians.
